Sun Outdoors Pigeon Forge: RV Resort in the Smoky Mountains

A fall getaway in the Smoky Mountains is just what the doctor ordered.  Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are very popular tourist destinations in the Smoky Mountains.  Staying at Sun Outdoors Pigeon Forge allows for a quiet relaxing hustle and bustle of the area.

When you first drive into the resort you head down into a valley and are nestled away into the mountains.  Staying in the fall brings the magic of the crisp colors of the trees.  You could head to the resort for a getaway and never leave the resort.  The pool, playground, arcade, jumping pillow, basketball court, pickle ball court, and gaga ball court.  The kids can literally play for hours.  Our kids were CRAZY about the jumping pillow.  They spent hours jumping!   We loved that there were three different sections of the pool.  There is a lazy river, a regular pool, a semi shallow pool, and a hot tub.  This allowed for some separation at the pool for all the different ages.  There is also a good size dog park for multiple dogs.  Our dog Olive wanted to play will all the dogs that she saw in the park.

We loved having a golf cart so that we could drive around and enjoy the fall leaves.  Going for walks is also a relaxing activity around the resort.  There is a nice path along the river to take a walk as well. 

The resort plans a number of family activities.  We stayed in the fall around Halloween.  There was a night with smores, a hayride, crafts and a football game.  This would be a perfect place to stay for a weekend or weeks at a time.   

You don’t just have to have an RV to stay at the resort.  There are also cabins of various sizes for couples of families.  This would be a great way to stay with extended family.  We would love to get back and explore the area a little more.  We spent the most time relaxing at the resort or hiking in the smokies.  The fall is a busy time, so if you are going for a hike make sure you get up early!
